Jon Barbieri - Founder

Hi everyone. Welcome to Nautivinewine.com. My name is Jon, and I am the founder of this site. For most of my life, I have worked in publishing, with writing being one of my favorite hobbies. 

I currently live in Oregon with my wife, two boys, and my beloved but very rotund Beagle, and life feels pretty sweet. Growing up, I never thought I would have the career that I have, and the means to make my passions a reality.

My favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and pairing a great glass of wine with a spectacular meal. I love nothing more than curling up with a good book, or making notes for my next blog post with a lovely glass of red on the front porch of my home. So, I thought- why not make a site dedicated to the greatest wines the world needs to know about?  

I myself am an avid wine consumer, being particularly enthralled by a strong Shiraz paired with a dry-aged bone-in ribeye. You just can’t beat it.

I started this site to share my love of wine with everyone, from beginners to seasoned wine connoisseurs. 

On this site, you can find recommendations for the best wineries across the states, the greatest pairings, the most flavorful wines- from Chardonnay to Pinot Grigio, Moscato, to Merlot. 

No matter what kind of wine you prefer, I have an informative article or guide for you to enjoy.

Perhaps you are looking to expand your knowledge on wine, or maybe you just want to know which wines to pair with chicken and fish. No matter the question, I can answer it for you here.

Hey! My name is Carey, and I too am a wine enthusiast! Having worked in the hospitality sector for 16 years, I have learned a few things about wine pairings. 

Here at Nautivinewine.com, I am responsible for writing some of our articles alongside Jon. I can help you find the best wines for your palette, tastes, meals, and more. 

Working within the restaurant industry has helped me finetune the best wine lists, learn all about sweet wines, dry wines, and the best menus to pair with them. If you are looking to create your own wine dinner menu, the best wine selection to give to someone, or you just want to find the perfect wine for an Italian meal, then I can help you out.

I first met Jon because our kids go to the same high school, and we live in the same neighborhood. We bonded instantly over our enthusiasm for great wines, and as a father of three kids, looking for a little passion-project, I jumped at the opportunity to join this site and work on some of the articles for our readers.
